Nokia 2366i Review
May 27, 2007 on 12:01 pm | In Nokia 2xxx Reviews | 1 CommentNokia 2366i Review - Nokia 2366i is a flip phone, but still bears the distinctive characteristic of the functional, entry level design. It measures 3.2x1.69x.94 inches, and weighs around 2.7 ounces. It is a dual-band, CDMA 800/1900 phone, with a stubby antenna giving it a bit of a more girth. The flip cover of the phone is quite sturdy with firm hinges. However the plastic body of the phone does not provide that rugged feeling when it is held in the palm of the hand.

It has a frontal external monochrome display measuring 95x95 pixels, having a blue background. The phone does not feature a camera. Though it displays the date, the time, the battery life, the signal strength, and the caller ID, the user cannot change the intensity of the back light, and nor the timing. The phone has a covered headset jack on top and a thin volume control rocker at the left spine of the phone. The battery charger goes into the port available at the bottom of the phone.
The main display of the phone measures 2.14 inches, having 128x160 pixels, with the support of 65,536 colours. With this, the resolution of the phone is very dim, and does not feature any graphics or any colour hues. The user can change the backlight time of this internal display, but that is about all as far as the controls for the display are concerned.
The navigation array available has a four way toggle within a square shape, with a central 'ok' button in the middle, and two soft keys. With the toggle raised, all other keys of the phone are flat and in level with the body of the phone. The Nokia 2366i has an address book, accommodating 250 contacts, which are adequate for a general user. Each of the contact entry features five phone numbers, e-mail addresses, a street address, and notes. The phone has a vibrate mode, and also has a speaker-phone, an alarm clock, a calendar, a notepad, a to-do list, a calculator, a timer, and a stopwatch. While Nokia 2366i does not support MMS, it does have the feature to send and receive SMS. It has a wireless web-browser, and interestingly it has a unit converter, a world clock, a voice recorder and Bluetooth 2.0. It also has a FM Radio, available to the user with a headset.
Nokia 2366i can be personalised with wallpapers, screensavers, colour themes, and alert sounds. It has no web browser, but the user gets two pre-loaded full length games, Golf and Solitaire. Nokia 2366i is a dual-band phone, and has quite a decent call quality, with good audio reception and control. The menu in the phone is quite sluggish, taking quite a few moments from transiting from one page to the other. The phone has a LiIon 860 MaH battery, with a promised battery life of 3.9 hours talk time and 13 days standby time. However, a talk time of 4 hours and 20 minutes has been achieved.

Nokia E65 Review - Nokia seems to have brought out the E-series branded mobile phones for the use of the business classes. Nokia E65 is a slider phone, having a dimension of 105mmx49mmx15.5mm, weighing only 105 grams with its battery, and is one of the smallest of its series. It has rounded edges, and soft material has been used in its construction, providing a small feeling in hand. It is smaller in size than the E60 model, which is a little larger than many standard phones, but a nice one to possess. The E65 Nokia mobile phone is easy to grip, with the sides having a rubbery feeling plastic. The front of the phone has a plastic housing for the controls and the screen. The battery cover of the phone gives a leather-like feeling, being made with the same kind of material as the front.
Nokia E65 is a slider phone, having a sturdy slider mechanism, and it provides a chunky feeling as you slide it up and down. The slider appears to be a definite improvement over the previous N80 or N95 models. The keys on the phone are made from hard plastic, and have the surrounds and the slider runner in metal, providing mechanical reliability to its sliding mechanism. The keys have ridges providing a good hold, though it looks horizontally cramped. As far as texting is concerned, the Nokia E65 features predictive texting, providing the advantage of fast text entry.
