Nokia 6215i review 2Nokia 6215i Review – A joint effort by the Finland-based Nokia and Taiwanese Pantech, the Nokia 6215i is one of the mobile phones in the United States exclusively offered by Verizon Wireless. Basically, the handset is a mobile phone equipped with a VGA camera as well as an OLED display. Brighter and battery-efficient, OLED displays are better than the standard LCD.

Despite its simple design, the Nokia 6215i is still appealing especially to users who do not want flashy mobile phones. The clamshell-style handset comes in black and equipped with an extendable antenna. Because it is quite small, it fits in any hand and can offer much comfort during use. The external OLED display indicates the strength of the network signal, life of the battery, caller ID as well as the date and time. When placed in camera mode, the display serves as the self-portrait viewfinder. On its left side, the volume rocker, camera button and headset jack can be located.

Upon opening the phone, you will immediately notice the internal OLED display because of the amazing colors. Unfortunately, the 1.5 –inch screen is too small and many users found themselves scrolling down the menu more frequently. Aside from this, users can change or adjust the font size, the display theme, backlight timer as well as the Nokia 6215i reviewformat of the clock. The navigation keys are located below the display and consist of the two soft keys, a center key, a Clear key and a five-way toggle. On each side of the toggle are the dedicated camera and speakerphone button.

The keypad has standard alphanumeric keys and are spaced just right, making it very comfortable for the user especially when composing messages. It also has a blue backlight that lights up upon phone activation. When the keys are pressed, the user might notice the keys sinking underneath the phone’s surface, making dialing a bit tricky.

This Nokia model comes with a VGA camera. Sadly, the images taken using the camera were a bit grainy and blurry. On the other hand, users can personalize their units with the great selection of themes, colors, wallpapers and alert tones. Each entry in the address book can accommodate at most five numbers. Users can also assign an image, group or ringtone for each entry. Other features of the Nokia 6215i include the alarm clock, calendar, stop watch, notepad wireless Web browser and voice dialing.

Users can try to download more applications such as games through their network provider. The Nokia 6215i works with CDMA 850 and 1900 and delivers clear-sounding voice calls. Both caller and receiver claims excellent quality sound. The speakerphone did not deliver as expected and users might find themselves shouting to be heard.

With a talk time of 3.92 hours and standby time of approximately 10 days, the Nokia 6215i can be considered a reliable mobile handset. Users who love sleek, small and user-friendly units will surely like this handset. It gets the job done and doesn’t come with a lot of frilly features.
