Nokia 6120 Review – Mobile phones today have gone far from just being a communication device. It is now used for downloading music, music on the go, video shooting, steaming video, browsing the net, receiving mails with attachments, and many more. The Nokia 6120 has been designed to support all that, and High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) feature, a revolutionary technology where the user can download stuff ten times faster than the usual WCDMA networks. More-over, Nokia 6120 provides the user with two 2 mega pixels cameras, with a 4x digital zoom, flash, which supports panorama mode for taking high-quality photographs. The second camera, situated at the front of the phone, serves well in receiving and making video calls.

The Nokia 6120 has the ways to save time for the user. With the help of the pre-loaded ‘how to guides”, and the set up wizard, users can have their email (IMAP/POP/SMTP), messaging and Internet connection up and running in less time. The user can transfer contacts, calendars, photos, videos and files to Nokia 6120, through data transfer application, and that too even when the SIM card is removed. The phone features synchronisation of the Nokia 6120 calendar, to maintain schedules with others.

Nokia 6120 measures 105mm x 46mm x 15mm, and weighs 84 grams, which is 10 g lighter than the Nokia 6230i. The TFT LCD display in the phone is quite large, measuring 2″ with 240×320 pixel display, having 16 million colours. It is Bluetooth (v2.0+EDR) enabled, and its internal 45 MB on board memory is optionally expandable up to 2 GB with microSD expandable memory card. This provides the user with the facility to store music, video, and other files in the phone. The phone further features a multimedia player, an FM radio, Video capture/playback, SMS and MMS, and a Lithium Ion 820 mAh battery, with 10.8 days standby, and 3 hours talk time.

The Nokia 6120 is based on S60 software, which allows the user to download additional applications, in addition to the ones already pre-loaded in the phone. The user has the option to personalise the phone with a variety of add-on applications, enhancements, content, and service. The S60 software in Nokia 6120 allows running of applications and use of the internet simultaneously. The phone features Calculator, Calendar, Reminders, Currency converter, Voice recognition, and Voice memo.

Nokia 6120 is a quad band, and dual band UMTS/HSDPA phone, having GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz and 850/2100 MHz bandwidths respectively. It has the capability in working in 3G environment, and is targeted as an easy-to-use phone. As regards to the drawback that the phone has, there is no Pop-port available on the bottom in the phone, and this means that it will not fit with any standard car kit. Further, it does not have any IfraRed. WiFi, or Fax/data features.

The phone features highly legible, large colour display screen, having 262,000 colours, and 4x digital zoom. With a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels, the display on the cover has a blue light indication of the caller identification, and it displays the battery strength and the time as well.
