February 27th, 2007 aletheides Posted in Nokia 6xxx Reviews No Comments »

Nokia 6111 ReviewNokia 6111 Review – The Nokia 6111 is Nokia’s latest addition to its slide-phone family. The slider mechanism appears to be very sturdy and a lot more solid than other slider phones.

The Nokia 6111 is overall is a feature-packed mobile phone available in different colour combinations, which makes this definitely appealing to a broad range of users. The appearance of the Nokia 6111 is sleek and has a trendy look.

The phone provides the ability to delete several messages at the same time and provides a faster way to create messages in a more intuitive process. As you slide open the phone, you’ll find a comfortable and well placed keypad. The only thing noticeable is the narrow space available between the first rows of keys and the bottom of the slider.

When it comes to the camera, the Nokia 6111 has a 1 mega-pixel digital camera with 6x digital zoom. It takes good quality photographs in daylight and satisfactory quality in darker environments. The zoom action works quite well, zooming out without significantly blurring or distorting the image. The camera in the Nokia 6111 includes various settings, which include, a variety of image sizes from 160 x 120 to 1152 x 864, Night Mode, Flash, a 10 seconds self timer and a feature which takes three photos in a sequence with one single click.

Nokia 6111 ReviewGetting down to the nitty gritty, the Nokia 6111 is a tri-band GSM phone and operates on 900/1800/1900 MHz frequency bands. The phone supports GPRS, EDGE and HSCSD for high speed data transfers and has a FM radio with its own set of a pair of stereo headphone, a visual radio, a WAP 2.0 browser and games. It has polyphonic ring tones and supports MP3, SMS, MMS messages, email, in addition to Bluetooth, Infrared and USB via its Pop-port as connectivity options. The onboard 23 MB memory is used for storing video, audio and image files. Nokia 6111 does not have a memory card slot, which is considered to be a disadvantage.

Nokia 6111 ReviewThe phone uses a 256K colour screen, but it lacks the clarity that is demanded out of such phones. Measuring just 84mm x 47mm x 23 mm, weighing only 92 g, the Nokia 6111 fits well in the cup of your hand and its lightweight frame means you won’t even notice it in your pocket. The battery life of the phone is considered to be low, and Nokia rates the 6111 as having talk time of up to 3 hours and 20 minutes, with a standby time of 12.5 days.

The Nokia 6111 is considered to be a good mobile phone, which serves its users well with its packed features. The slider mechanism is sturdy, so don’t worry about durability. The 6111 cellphone is nicely small, compact, and has much to offer.
