Nokia 2626 ReviewNokia 2626 Review - It is a phone designed for the style-conscious users. Nokia 2626 is a colourful phone, keeping up with the users in the emerging markets. It is available in quite ambitious colours of Fiery Red and Spatial Blue, and to go with the trend, it has a FM Radio for music on the go. The phone is constructed out of three different plastic materials, with the inset made of tinted glass, having mirror coating on the front.

The phone has none of the control rockers at its sides, except for few things. Two loudspeakers are situated at the top and right hand sides of the phone, and the charger input jack and the 2.50mm audio jack, are situated at the bottom of the phone along with an odd looking slot. Nokia 2626 has a 27x27 mm STN-matrix display, with a resolution of 128x128 pixels, having 65K colours. While the picture quality is good in normal ambient light conditions, it gets washed out in the sun, but however, it retains the legibility of the display.

Nokia 2626 has a similar keypad as that of Nokia 2610, being made in ledges which makes it comfortable to handle. The numeric buttons are a bit larger than the others, which prevents wrong dialling of numbers. To activate the radio, the user need to have the key "*" pressed longer, and in the same manner, pressing "#" activates the silent mode. The navigation key for this phone is quite small, making a person with a larger thumb difficult to manipulate. The two functional keys has the left one is dedicated to the menu, while the right one can be used just about for any function, even to lock the keyboard. The keys are white and bright making it easy for the user to read the legible key captions.

Nokia 2626 measures 104x43x18 mm, and weighs 91 g. The phone uses quite a powerful Li-Ion battery at 970 mAh, and has a specified 300 hours of standby and 3 hours of call mode time. The battery can sustain up to 2 hours of game play. Nokia 2626 Review 2

Nokia 2626 utilises a surprisingly powerful battery – a 970 mAh Li-Ion unit. As the manufacturer claims, it can keep the handset up and running for up to 3 hours in call mode and up to 300 hours in standby. When tested, it lasted for about 5 days at 20 minutes of calls, and about 2 hours of gaming and other functions usage. It takes the 2626 around 2 hours to charge from empty to full. The phone has a 300-entry phone book, and allows accessing the SIM card memory, along with the use of the internal phone memory. The user can also use the SIM card memory simultaneously. The phone offers the feature of SMS and MMS in the conventional way.

Nokia 2626 is a dual band phone responding to GSM 900 / 1800 MHz bandwidths. It has an internal memory of 2 MB, and as for smart features it has a clock and built-in games. It has GPRS capability enabling high speed data transfer. The phone does not have any camera option. The graphic formats supported by the phone are, BMP, GIF87a, GIF89a, JPEG, PNG, and WBMP.

You can actually increase the earpieces volume and also the loudspeaker volume, although not using a side key as most. All you needed to is, either in normal or loud speaker mode, pres the left/right arrow key to increase and decrease the volume.

The cute phone. But fed up with low volume ringtone, which causes missing of alerts in receiving incoming calls. Receives Picture messages, but could not send them to others. But I love the design.
