Nokia 3220 ReviewNokia 3220 Review - The Nokia 3220 strays from the normal business phone category into a much hipper, fashionable category. The Nokia 3220 case is highly customizable, a trait that would immediately appeal to a younger crowd. You'll find the 3220 to also be very light as well, a mere 86 grams.

The 3220 has a decent 128 x 128 display that shows 65k colors. There's also support for wallpapers and animated screensavers.

The Nokia 3220 is backed by the stable Series 40 platform - plenty of programs supported here. You can easily compare the Nokia 3220 to the Nokia 3200. Unfortunately, the Nokia 3220 lacks Bluetooth as well as an infrared connection. There is EDGE support, however, so not everything is missing.

When you look at the how customizable the Nokia 3220 is, it's clear that the phone is designed for a younger, teenager crowd. You can easily customize the 3220 with paper covers and neat looking light effects. The phone is available in five different colours. The difference in the colour of its keypad, along with the colour striping of the edge of the front panel, and of course the colour of the body, all together makes an exquisite combination to attract the young end-user. The phone has side insertions that hide LEDs, which illuminate the side panel, with an incoming call. The red and green lights lite up with different events, such as, incoming call, games, and so on. You don't have the ability to control certain aspects of the light, like the illumination, but can turn it off and on. The grip in Nokia 3220 can be changed to different colours, such as, white, red, blue, pale blue, and green.

A big strength for the Nokia 3220 is its durability. The chubby plastic form should help protect it against dropping and damage from anything else.

There isn't a lot of shared memory for the Nokia 3220 - a mere 3 MB. There's enough for a good handful of ringtones and custom graphics, though. For java applications, there's a filesize maximumNokia 3220 Review of 128 kb, however.

Overall, the Nokia 3220 is a solid phone with great features a teenager would love.

Nokia 3220 measures 104.5x44.2x18.7 mm and weighs about 86 g. It has two games installed, which are Swamp racer, Air Express. The display in 3220 is not clear, but, the games could be played with just moving the phone to its sides, and key operation is not needed. The display has a resolution of 128x128 pixels, with 65K colour, and has pre-set colour schemes and a set of graphics, which are not very brightly displayed. During this Nokia 3220 review we noticed that the screen display fades in the sun, and can hardly be read. This can prove to be a disadvantage when trying to operate your phone in sunlight.

The keypad of Nokia 3220 is made of rubber, and has a five way joystick. The alpha-numeric keys have wave like design, which makes it comfortable for dialling numbers, with each key providing a 'click' sound when pressed. The back light of the keypad is lit by a white light, which makes the characters on the keyboard stand out, in different lighting conditions. The on/off switch is on the top of the phone, and is made of plastic. Nokia 3220 has a standard Pop-port connector, with the battery charger inlet at the bottom. The manufacturer's ratings specify that the battery provides 3.5 hours of talk time, with 350 hours of stand-by time. It takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge the battery.
