With the inclusion of Bluetooth, the phone opens up wide variety of operations for its users. With the 6102i you'll be able to connect with accessories wirelessly, from adapters, headsets to laptops and automobiles. In addition to that, the Nokia 6102i also features a VGA camera with a dedicated button for quick use.
The phone includes Nokia Xpress audio messaging for sending audio clips. It has two colour screens which support animated wallpapers and screensavers.
The Nokia 6102i includes many basic functions like contact and calendar information, voice dialing, recording and an in-built hands free speakerphone. It also has a FM radio, and supports downloadable content, which include MIDI and MP3 ring tones, themes and games. You will need separate headsets to listen to the FM radio. The 0.3 mega-pixel integrated VGA camera is triggered by the dedicated key, which also converts the phone's internal LCD as a view finder. The camera is capable of taking images up to 640 x 480 pixels in size, and could be set at High, Normal, and Basic image quality. The colour balance remains disappointing. A self timer and a night mode function are included in the features. Nokia 6102i offers video recording at a resolution of 128 x 96 pixels. The TFT screen has a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels with 65k colours.
Nokia 6102i is a sturdy handset, with well designed resistance to shock. The dimensions of the phone are 85 X 24 mm, and weigh around 97 g. It offers an address book, with practically infinite number of entries, due to its quite massive internal memory storage. Nokia 6102i has the unique feature to aid the end-users with impaired hearing, in offering digital TTY/TDD, a program especially meant for such users in their day to day work. With 24 polyphonic ring tones, the phone offers its users with the choice of personalising their ring. The phone features English and Spanish languages, and in its display capabilities as well. It also offers the latest in predictive-text entry technology, a FM Radio with stereo capabilities, which is not found in most of the phones, and a speaker phone feature.
Nokia 6102i comes with a 4.2 MB memory, sufficient for most of the user's need. It has the latest with graphics, which goes hand in hand with its screen savers and wall papers, and other aspects, as far as games and other image related functions are concerned. The phone features uploading and downloading of data, and also supports sending of pictures through Nokia Picture Messaging. It has a very prominent feature in voice dialling, and allows identification of the caller by ring tome. It has GPRS and EDGE capabilities, ensuring high speed packet data download and upload. It offers HTML, USB, and infrared technologies, and supports POP3 and other email servers.
Nokia 6102i has one of the best battery specifications, and uses a Lilon 820 mah battery, providing a talk time life of about 220 minutes, with a stand-by time of 14 days. It features the latest in alarm functions and even has a snooze. The calendar feature in Nokia 6102i, offers the latest in calendar functions, where you can catalogue up to 500 events, providing you with enough scope of scheduling your tasks. The phone provides to-do listings and it is this function that carries 30 commands or dictations. It offers pre-installed games, such as, Backgammon, Bowling, Air Glider, and Sky Diver, and much more of these can be downloaded in the phone.
