Nokia 6111 Review - Measuring 84 x 47 x 23 mm and weighing 92 g, the short, chubby Nokia 6111 takes up very little pocket space. The Nokia 6111 features a Megapixel camera, photo light, and small photo mirror on the back cover; a dedicated camera button andNokia 6111 Review volume buttons on the right side of the phone; and a 262K color display that sits above a set of action buttons and a comfortable, rather loud 5-way navigation button on the front cover; the phone design looks nice, but the display's resolution is nothing out of the ordinary.

With standard Nokia quality of late, it leaves a craving for a sharper display like is more common in recent phones from other manufacturers such as Sony Ericcson and Samsung. However, the Nokia 6111's numerical keypad on the lower part of the slide phone has nice responsive, comfortably-shaped buttons.

The Megapixel camera, mentioned above, has a 6x digital zoom and takes very good quality still images in daylight and adequate quality images in darker environments. With the phone's display acting as a viewfinder, it switches to landscape mode when the camera is activated, and its numerous options are adjusted with the action buttons and volume buttons, and video recording at 176 x 144 pixels is also available. Furthermore, these stills and videos can be added very quickly to MMS messages via the camera application.

Next, the Nokia 6111 features the lastest version of Nokia's user interface, which now allows several messages to be marked and deleted simultaneously. Creating messages is now faster with the reworked interface. Overall, Nokia 6111's interface still offers the same look and feel as in previous Nokia handsets with color displays.

Nokia 6111 ReviewThe Nokia 6111's phone-centric features include an FM radio, a WAP 2.0 browser, 4 included games (Champ Rally 3D, GolfTour, Backgammon II and Solitaire), as well as operator-dependent features such as Push-To-Talk and Visual Radio. Additionally, the 6111 supports MP3 and polyphonic ringtones, SMS and MMS messages, in addition to Bluetooth, Infrared and USB via PopPort as connectivity options. Nokia Xpress audio messaging is also available, and 23 MB of onboard memory stores video, audio and image files. Also, the Nokia 6111 operates on GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz networks, and offers up EDGE, GPRS and HSCSD for high-speed data transfers.

Reception and voice quality of the Nokia 6111 are excellent, but the approximate 2 hours of talktime and 3 days of standby actually capable of the phone is not so great compared to the claimed 3.5 hours of talktime and 10 days of standby time that was claimed.

So, overall, the Nokia 6111 offers a nice improvement in Nokia's user interface, as as a well-performing Megapixel camera and EDGE support. All wrapped up in a chubby small slider form that looks nice, but the display and battery life are downers. Regardless, the Nokia 6111 can be considered a good buy for those looking for a stable, small mid-range handset.

[...] The N80 is a sliding phone like Nokia 6280 or Nokia 6111. It has been noticed that the phone slides open by itself when carried in a bag or in your pocket, which is highly undesirable. It measures 95 x 50 x 26 mm and weighs 134 g, making it one of the lightest smartphone handsets around It is a quad band plus 3G phone supporting GSM - 850 MHz, 900 MHz, and 1800 MHz and 1900 MHz and 3G WCDMA 1900 or 2100 MHz frequency bands.
