Nokia 6165i Review - Nokia 6165i is a flip phone, solidly built and especially made for Sprint. The internal display of the phone has 128x 160 displays with over 262,000 colours, with the external one having 65K. The internal display of the phone is quite impressive and makes reading quite easy, though it is not as bright and vibrant as one would expect. The internal and external displays in Nokia 6165i can be customised, but it is limited to what you can do.
Nokia 6165i features a 1.0 mega pixel camera, with a flash and supports all major types of connectivity, such as, Bluetooth, USB cable and infra-red. The camera in Nokia 6165i can by used for zooming in and out, video recording and play back, and is capable of video recording to 30 seconds. With streaming multi-media support, the phone provides excellent feature in video music on demand. The digital camera has a maximum resolution of 1152 x 864 pixels with LED Flash and Self-timer.
The 6165i has an integrated speaker phone for hands-free operation and the phone features voice dialling, by just calling out a name. Nokia 6165i has 64-chord polyphonic sound engine supported by MP3 and video ringer. Besides having the Bluetooth feature, the phone allows downloading of Java or BREW applications. The phone supports practically all the basic features that are desirable in a mobile phone, such as, SMS, MMS, alarm, calculator, currency converter, calendar, email client, picture caller Id, etc. It also allows downloading of games of your choice.
Nokia 6165i allows synchronisation of your in-built phone book with your PC using the Nokia PC suite, available as a free download from www.nokiausa.com. The phone book in Nokia 6165i can store up to 500 contacts with multiple entries per contact. The phone has up to 14 MB of memory to store your pictures, messages, games and applications and a calendar with monthly view. You can also store your to-do lists in this memory area.
Nokia 6165i has a clamshell design, with a with stub antenna. The keyboard of this phone is hard with slippery flushed keys and does not appear to be quite attractive. It has a white back light which illuminates the key well. Over-all, Nokia 6165i is a good entry level mobile phone, which is versatile enough, having everything that is needed in a such a phone. It has moderate to good sound quality, and with features like, GPRS, Bluetooth, camcorder, camera mode, speaker phone etc., it makes Nokia 6165i a good buy.
