Nokia N90 Vs. Sony W800 - A comparison.

I am in Switzerland and have played with the W800 and Nokia N90 for an extensive time. Both phones have been available for 1 week where I am. I will be referring to prices in Canadian dollars incase people don't wanna convert to the Swiss franc.

First up - Sony Ericsson's W800 (600 Canadian Sim free, No contract)

Bad Points of the SE W800

-Orange makes it look like a plastic toy, the K750 is much more appealing for a phone with this price.
-No regular stereo 3.5 headphone jack, there is a NEW connector aswell and old accessories WON'T fit. The adapter is big and comes off very easy. This is a lame excuse for a supposed "Walkman"
-You can access music from a special button or use the joystick. BUT the joystick is worse than the T610, it simply jumps eveything everywhere.
-The software is the SAME as the K750 with added W (for Walkman) and layout of orange.
-The speaker is NOT acceptable, the 6230i beats it any day of the weak (Sony what tha?)
-The reception is great WITHOUT the music player, but once it is on and you need to make a call it is extremely quiet and just not acceptable. The T610 beats it even.
-Screen is not very clear.

Good Points of the SE W800 (the 2)
-Camera is ok.
-Comes with 512mb memory.

SONY ERICSSON WALKMAN W800 QUICKSHARE CAMERA CELL PHONE    US $51.00

If you REALLY want a W800, save your money and buy anything else it simply is NOT worth it. But if you blow your hard earned coin - don't say I didn't warn you. I believe this product was a rush to the market - probably hoping to cash in with the "Walkman" name thing.

Second up Nokia's N90 (900 Canadian Sim free, no contract)

Bad points of the Nokia N90

-HOLY HELL you better start lifting weights cause she's HUGE and I mean it.
-When you open it is just absolutely not economical.
-Feels VERY plasticy in hand and scratches easily.
-Vibration is next to nil...(umm hello Nokia)
-No video out (as in Samsung D600 unit also available here) or 3.5m jack for headphones.
-HEAVY (did I mention that) Ed note: a whopping 173 grams!
-Software is easy but camera FREEZES up.
-The flip out screen can get loose and for video recording this is a NONO.

Good points of the Nokia N90

-The screen is very clear.
-Camera quality is good.
-User interface is great.
-Reception is AMAZING! (i guess for a big phone)

Simplly put: If you wanna carry a minature camcorder with you, than this is it. I can not believe Nokia would even introduce a phone this big and bulky. When you open it is as big as my home phone.

These are just my OWN opinions. I say it like it is and I am in no camp. I am though very interested in the Nokia N91. If it's not as big as I picture then for people it's a "no brainer" over the "wolf in sheep's clothing..umm Walkman" phone. From talking to store owners they expect the N91 to go like the T610 was here, which was insanely popular.
